Pikes Peak Science

STEP-uP began as a $5.9 million project awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to five districts in the Pikes Peak Region of Colorado. The overall goal for this website is to communicate with multiple audiences the mission, purpose, staff development opportunities, elementary science reform efforts, and successes of the STEP-uP project. Although the grant has now expired, STEP-uP continues as a consortium of the participating school districts.

The mission of STEP-uP is to provide high quality professional development to all elementary teachers of science in the region, including to inducting new teachers into kit-based science instruction, moving experienced teachers to a higher level of kit utilization, and to creating a cadre of leaders to help institutionalize the reform.

We are proud to have Colorado College as our university partner and Agilent Technologies as our business partner.
